CLINIC POLICIES

Online Booking

We offer an online booking service.  These 10-minute appointments time slots are for both new issues and follow up.  Please be aware that it typically requires at least 10 minutes to adequately address a SINGLE medical issue, and if time permits, sometimes a brief second issue.  If you have additional issues or questions for the doctor, please make another appointment on a subsequent day.

If coming to the office as a family, please book separate appointments for each person who needs to see the doctor that day.

You may also call into our office to book an appointment, if you'd prefer.

A limited number of time slots are reserved for same-day visits to address URGENT issues.  If you require a same-day appointment for an URGENT issue, and if no time slots are available online, please call the office and we will try our best to accommodate you.

Cancellations and Appointment No Shows

Out of consideration for other patients, we require 6 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

Appointments booked via our online booking service can be canceled or rescheduled up to 6 hours in advance.  Appointments booked online can ONLY be canceled or rescheduled online.  Click here and log in to your account (link at top right corner) to make changes to your online bookings.

Appointments booked by phone or in person can ONLY be canceled or rescheduled by phone or in person.

If you fail to cancel in time and do not show up to your scheduled appointment, this will result in a missed appointment charge of $50.

Investigation Results

Please understand that it may take up to 10 days for our office to receive results back from various labs or hospitals.  To ensure follow up on your test results, please make an appointment with a physician at our clinic after undergoing an investigation in order to discuss your results.  We will do our best to contact you to book an appointment if your investigation results are abnormal.  From time to time we will also contact you to discuss relevant normal results.  If we are unable to reach you by telephone, we will send you a letter in the mail.

At times we may need to leave messages on your voicemail (such as the time and place of a specialist referral or the message that lab tests are normal).  Please only provide us with phone number(s) where we may leave such messages.

Specialist Referrals and Hospital Investigations

We will do our best to organize specialist referrals and hospital investigations in a timely manner. However, wait times are often long. Should you not hear back regarding specialist referrals or hospital investigations within one month (or earlier for urgent matters), please inquire at our clinic about the status of your referral.

Prescription Refill Requests via Telephone/Fax

We may under some circumstances refill your prescription for long-term medications over the phone without you having to present yourself to the clinic. However, there will be a $40 charge for this service and this charge needs to be paid by credit card over the phone.

Oxycodone and Methadone Prescriptions

Our clinic does not prescribe oxycodone nor methadone.

Transferring Records to our Clinic

When transferring records to our clinic, always provide us with photocopies and not the original documents. We shred all paper records that are scanned into our electronic medical record database. Hence, the originals should remain in your or your former doctor's possession.

Please see our Privacy Policy related to handling of patient information.
